If you're reading this, we’re assuming you already have your documents packet prepared and your MyICA portal set up. Great — you’re ahead of the curve.
If you're missing any documents or unsure how to meet the requirements, you can reach out to ICA directly — or book a session with our team for guidance.
✅ Step 1: Gather Your Documents — and Keep Them Accessible
You’ll be keying in specific document details throughout the form. This includes numbers, dates, and names from:
Birth certificates
Marriage certificates
Education certificates
Work passes and passports
We recommend reviewing everything beforehand — and triple-checking. Entering inaccurate info could cause delays or rejection.

🎓 Step 2: Educational & Professional Qualifications
Start with your highest qualification — the rest can be ordered up or down.
Please note that ICA requests a declaration for all education.
Include any professional certifications obtained.
Be ready to upload transcripts or explain gaps if qualifications are missing.
Please note that if you are currently married and have children, even if they are not included in this application, you will need to declare all education they have undergone as well.

💼 Step 3: Employment History
You’ll need full employment details, including:
Company name
Company UEN
Company Address
Industry
Job title
Dates of employment

There is a special field asking for ‘occupation’. To clearly depict the progression in your career, you may wish to study the detailed definitions listed in the Singapore Standard Occupational Classification 2024 – Detailed Definitions (https://www.singstat.gov.sg/-/media/files/standards_and_classifications/occupational_classification/ssoc2024a-detailed-definitions.ashx).
Please also remember that spouses, even if not currently employed, should indicate their employment history in full as well.
💡 Pro tip: Prepare your employment history in a document beforehand. This makes copy-pasting faster and more accurate.
🌍 Step 4: Overseas Residency Declarations
If you've lived outside of Singapore for more than 6 months in the past 8 years, you'll need to:
Declare each overseas stay
Explain the reason (e.g. education, work, family)

👨👩👧 Step 5: Family Information — (Have your parents, siblings, and in-laws on standby!)
Be prepared to input detailed information for:
Parents
Siblings
Parents-in-law
Siblings-in-law

This includes:
Country and state of birth
Whereabouts
Passport number
Foreign ID number
Current employment information
Highest education information, including school name and location
📌 Note: If you or your spouse have a large extended family, prepare this in advance. The system doesn’t auto-save well — it’s better to exit, gather info, and come back.
🗃️ Step 6: Have HR Ready
Since June 2024, ICA no longer accepts the old Annex A form. But don’t get too comfortable — you still need that info.
Your employer (HR) should provide information that includes:
Industry classification
Annual turnover (last 3 years)
Employee headcount
This is still a critical input in the application.

🧾 Final Tips
Use a form preparation sheet before logging into MyICA — this is what we offer clients so they’re not scrambling mid-application.
Don’t guess. Unclear or incomplete data can result in processing delays or outright rejection.
Set aside at least 60–90 minutes of uninterrupted time to complete the online form.
